Position Overview:
The Electrical Project Engineer will lead the design and implementation of electrical systems for data centers and corporate office buildings. This includes power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, telecom, and security. You'll be responsible for project leadership, client relations, and guiding a team to ensure the electrical design meets project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Leadership:
- Lead the design of electrical systems (power, lighting, fire alarms, telecom, etc.) for buildings.
- Perform electrical load calculations, site visits, surveys, and commissioning.
- Lead a team and ensure design accuracy and project goals are met.
- Coordinate with vendors for equipment selection.
- Client & Team Collaboration:
- Interface directly with clients for consultations and solutions.
- Ensure project deadlines are met and communicate clearly with clients and team members.
- Review and adhere to codes like the NEC and client specifications.
- Quality & Process Improvement:
- Help improve quality assurance processes for electrical designs.
Essential Skills & Experience:
Electrical Design Experience:- 7+ years of experience in electrical system design, including power distribution, lighting, and security systems.
Software Proficiency:- Experience using AutoCAD and Revit for design work.
Project Management:- Proven ability to manage and lead projects from design to construction.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Technical Expertise:- Knowledge of electrical systems, including low-to-medium voltage power and mission-critical infrastructure.
- Familiarity with building codes and regulations, especially NEC.
Client Relations & Communication:- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
Professional Certification:- Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Teamwork & Independence:- Ability to work in a team setting and independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with data-center infrastructure design is a plus.
Education:
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited university.
Travel:
- Will require travel to project sites.
