Trophy Point, a division of YA, provides Pre-Construction consulting services with an emphasis on Construction Cost Estimating services. Through the estimates provided and Trophy Point's knowledge of construction, the organization works with its customers to aid in the alignment of scope and budget on a given project. Summary: The Electrical Cost Estimator focuses specifically on the electrical demolition, temporary power / light, distribution, lighting, wiring devices, branch circuits, equipment connections, communications equipment, access control, AV/IT, and other electrical quantity takeoffs and associated pricing for projects. The Electrical Cost Estimator is responsible for providing accurate cost information to the stakeholders on a given project, in order to ensure that they can make effective decisions related to the alignment of scope and budget. Role & Responsibilities:
- Documentation review and comprehension of construction documents.
- Participates in customer kick-off meetings for new projects.
- Responsible for generating questions for clients and quotes needed from suppliers.
- Executes quantity take-offs for estimating from narratives, paper drawings, and software OST, Sage, BIM, and more.
- Performs the necessary math to quantify, price, express, calculate, compare, compile, adjust, etc.
- Assigns unit pricing based on appropriately adjusted historical data and quotes.
- Maintains positive working relationships with contractors and suppliers.
- Effectively communicates with and influences multiple stakeholders from different functions, across all levels of the organization.
- Inputs and summarizes estimates using a standard format.
- Delivers reports and follows-up with customers in a timely manner.
- Collects and documents required to closeout items and participates in closeout efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years' experience required, including estimating or other relevant field work.
- Familiarity with Building Electrical systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, detail oriented and highly organized.
