Responsibilities: Primary duties of an Electrical Inspector are to inspect electrical power and communications construction work to ensure conformance with contract documents and all applicable codes and standards. Work includes preparation of daily narrative reports, contractor time and material records, review contractor's request for additional compensation, preparation of descriptions/reasons/estimates for change orders, verification of work in place quantities for contractor payment applications, coordination of construction work with facility operations and other stakeholders and ensuring the safety and quality of the work.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years' experience in construction inspection of electrical power and communications work on water/wastewater projects or transportation/infrastructure projects for public agencies, such as NYCDEP, PANYNJ, MTA/NYCT, NJ Transit, NYCDDC, NYCSCA is required. Experience with NYCDEP is preferred.
  • Excellent Organizational and communication skills required.
  • *Preference given to local candidates

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA 30 hour training
  • NYCDEP experience
