PACO Group, Inc. (PACO) is seeking a skilled and experienced full-time Electrical Inspector to support the Port Authority at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR). This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to essential infrastructure projects, ensuring high standards of quality and safety in construction related to aeronautical lighting, high-tension systems, substations, and fiber optic infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in electrical inspection, a meticulous approach to detail, and the flexibility to work night and weekend shifts as required. POSITION -Electrical Inspector, Starting January 6, 2025. LOCATION - Reporting to the Sr. Engineer of Construction, the position will be at Newark Liberty International Airport, Newark, NJ. SCOPE -The Electrical Inspector will be responsible for construction management and inspection services associated with Aeronautical lighting systems, 5kV systems, electrical substation/regulator work, high tension work, fiber optic communication infrastructure systems, fire alarm systems and other electrical based work. REQUIREMENTS -Ability to communicate effectively both orally and written, verbal communication includes contract staff, Resident Engineer, facility staff both in person and via two-way communications. Ability to read plans and specs and prepare written contract administration documentation such as daily narratives (work reports), controlled inspection reports, daily time and material records, and document unit price work. Identify potential extra work issues and keep Resident Engineer advised of issues. Prepare estimates of extra work. Prepare related sketches and documentation. Review plans for constructability and prepare comments. Review contractor payment requests and recommend reasonableness to the Resident Engineer. • Bachelor's Degree Electrical Engineering. • Minimum 5-years' experience inspecting electrical construction work, varied in size (projects ranging from $500K to $5 million plus) and complexity (multiple crews and crew sizes per shift). • Ability to pass a SWAC Background Check at High Level. • Valid Driver's license required. • Night and weekend shifts are required. • Trained in fall protection, trench excavation, confined space and permit required confined space OSHA regulations and 30-hr OSHA construction safety training. • Any associated Electrical Certifications.
