Job Summary:
The Project Engineer possess a high level of expertise in all facets of electrical construction and responsible providing leadership and direction to the Project Management team and potential profitability for commercial and mixed-use projects in order to meet department and company goals. This valued member of our team will be creative, and solutions oriented and thrive on winning profitable work.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains contract with select trade partners and responsible for some subcontract administration, including defining work scope, answering inquiries and supervising progress.
- Participates in change management and change order process, including pricing, processing, and assessing cost and schedule impact before reviewing.
- Maintains and performs project document control and procedures (coordinating RFIs, shop drawing and submittal process maintaining as-built drawings, etc.)
- Collaborates with the project team lead in supervising design with timely response to the submittal schedule.
- Participates in the reviews of trade partners' submittals form compliance with scope, design documentation prior to forwarding to design for review.
- Coordinates with project manager and superintendent in managing and reporting overall project or select scope, cost management, schedule, and quality.
- Coordinates inventory and tracking of materials and equipment and expedites material orders.
- Assists with site inspections from the design team to resolve constructability and site coordination issues and reviews
- Involved in and participates with overall project closeout, including document archival, maintenance and warranty manuals, deficiencies, and warranty work.
- Other responsibilities and duties may be assigned.
Education, Skills and Experience:
- 2+ Years plus experience as an Electrical Engineering or Electrical Administration
- Electrical experience is a plus
- Must be a team player with the ability to work independently to meet goals and objectives
- Strong organization, communication and time management skills with strong attention to detail
- Respond to Customer Inquiries or request for Pricing Alternatives
- Knowledge and ability to understand Architectural Drawings, MEP Coordination, Spec Sheets, Submittals, As-Builts, etc.
- Experience with EBM and PlanSwift Onscreen Take-off is a plus
- Experience in utilizing Electrical Estimating software, Bluebeam, Excel, and Building Connected
- Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives
- Should possess a general understanding of NEC Code, NECA & NEIS Standards, OSHA, CAL-GREEN, LEED and Title 24 requirements
