Job Description :

At Beyond TalentEdge we are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager for a leading Commercial Electrical Contractor in the Finger Lakes region. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and supervising related to planning and monitoring commercial and industrial construction projects, from inception to completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Exceeds our customers' expectations and ensures that our work adheres to all company safety policies and OSHA-mandated requirements.
  • Provide leadership and development in a collaborative environment with cross-functional teams to ensure continued profitability and growth.
  • Be the lead for pre-construction meetings to ensure successful handoff from estimating to field.
  • Manage all financial aspects of the project through ongoing job forecasting.
  • Extract from job estimate, cost, and labor hours to develop a budget for ERP and timekeeping systems.
  • Set clear goals and expectations for the team.
  • Create a Work Breakdown Structure (W.B.S.) showing labor hours per task and used by foreman to develop three week lookahead and crew for timekeeping allocation.
  • Create a site-specific safety plan.
  • Prepare contract documents (drawings, specs, scope of work, schedule, etc.).
  • Pull permits or select an inspector at authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).
  • Attend job walks; pre-bid meetings; weekly project meetings; collaborations and conferences with clients and design professionals.
  • Update schedule based on customer needs, foreman's three week lookahead and available resources.
  • Develop and process Request for Information (RFIs) as required to avoid field delays.
  • Develop and process change order pricing and scope or work as requested by customer or as required by project.
  • Maintain current working drawings identified per electrical scope of work showing RFIs, Change Orders, Addendums and As-Built changes.
  • Prepare monthly progress billings as required per customer.
  • Develop monthly cost to complete for Work in Progress (WIP) reports.
  • Prepare and deliver Close-Out Books to customers showing; As-Built Drawings, Submittals, Inspections, Operations and Maintenance Manuals, Turn-over Training, and Material Turn-over.
  • Work under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed, and calm manner.

Education/Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Management or similar studies preferred.
  • 10 or more years of progressively responsible experience in the electrical construction industry, with a concentration in commercial and industrial large construction projects.
  • Leadership experience- this position requires supervising a staff that includes a Foreman, Journeyman, and Helpers.
  • OSHA 30 & NFPA 70E required.
  • Knowledge and proficiency with Code requirements and basic electrical engineering calculations; Voltage-drop, Ohm's law, conduit-fill, wire ampacity, de-rating, etc.
  • Extensive experience with Excel, Word, Outlook, Bluebeam, Spectrum and one of the major computerized estimating programs (e.g., ConEst, Accubid, McCormick, etc.) preferred
  • Valid NYS drivers' license free from major infractions required.
  • Team player, self-motivated, gets along well with supervisors, peers and subordinates.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified.

Special Requirements:

  • Ability to work overtime, early starts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to commute up to two hours from home.
  • Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).
  • Proficient in all types of electrical installations and wiring methods.
  • Basic math and reading skills.
  • Computer proficiency including word processing, data entry, spreadsheets, and generating reports using standard software applications.
  • Ability to develop and deliver oral presentations and written materials for a variety of audiences and multiple venues.

Physical & Work Conditions:

  • High mental and visual attention is required for planning or directing fairly complex work methods or operations that impact client relationships.
  • Ability to climb ladders and steep stairs, sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, push, pull, reach, crawl, crouch, kneel, bend or stoop, and perform repetitive motions of the hands, arms, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to work from various ladders (step ladders up to 14', A frame ladders, and all size extension ladders) and carry and relocate up to a 12' step ladder independently.
  • Employee's personal weight and tools cannot exceed ladder weight limits (Class 1-250 lbs., Class 1A-300 lbs.).
  • Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
  • Work in all elements depending on job location and time of year, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Regular exposure to occupational hazards requires special precautions and occasional exposure to serious injury.

Job Type:

Full-time- Direct Hire

Schedule: Ability to work overtime, early starts, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Work Location: Must be able to commute for up to two hours from home. (Rochester- Finger lakes Region)

Pay Range: $80K-$100K based on experience
