Title: Electrical Superintendent Position Type: Direct Hire Location: New Albany, IN Reports to: Project Director Status: Exempt Job Summary: PIC Group, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Technical Manager - Electrical Superintendent to support new construction projects working for a world class construction firm that provides construction management, design/build, general contracting, pre-construction, and program management services in the United States. Reporting to the Project Director, the Technical Manager - Electrical Superintendent will begin work remotely before reporting to an assigned construction project located in either Johnstown, Ohio or New Albany, Indiana. Oversite of project activities include coordinating all owner furnished contractor installed commissioning activities for the project. Technical Manager - Electrical Superintendent will manage the equipment startup and commissioning process, assist in the implementation of the project's 4-phase quality control plan, monitor field commissioning for all subcontractors, maintain schedule and conformance to contract documents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • Facilitates the scheduling and coordination of Commissioning activities with owner furnished contractor installed vendors, subcontractors, and project superintendents during commissioning. • Ensures documentation of the testing results from the project's commissioning activities. • Manages and coordinates issues identified and appropriate resolution by Commissioning team. • Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule. • Provide technical support for construction effort, including participation in construction planning and design, interpretation of design, application of construction methods, resolution and documentation of design conflicts, constructability reviews, and drawing implementation. • Represent company, project and/or department during Architectural/Engineering phase, as well as client and project management meetings. • Interface all on-site departments as required to resolve problems and ensure quality of construction in support of overall project schedule. Job Requirements: • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to positively influence and motivate all levels of personnel. • Prior experience with Commercial and / or Industrial project scopes of $15M value or more. Commercial projects include healthcare, education facilities, or office buildings. • Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, and standards. • A thorough understanding of the relationship between other functional units is required. • Ability to work professionally and collaboratively interface with all colleagues. • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work in a matrix organization where business leaders have equal organizational authority. • Prior working experience on construction projects with a concentration on commissioning oversight. • Must be able to travel when required. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite software. Physical Requirements: • Ability to reach with hands or arms, climb or balance, stoop, and kneel. • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods of time. • Required to frequently lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds in weight. • Vision requirements include the use of close, distance and peripheral vision, along with depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. • Able to perform job duties in a field office shared by other site personnel. Education / Experience: • High School Diploma or equivalent required. • 8+ years supervisory experience in similar facility construction technology, methods, equipment, tools and work procedures required. • Strong Electrical background - Data Center experience preferred • Advanced understanding of construction scheduling, cost control and demonstrated ability to control and supervise large groups • Prior experience with Commercial and / or Industrial project scopes of $15M value or more.
