What this job involves: The Electrical Supervisor manages and participates in the maintenance, monitoring, and preventive care of diverse equipment systems. This encompasses, but is not limited to, refrigeration, heat exchangers, HVAC, electrical components, emergency backup systems, and hot water infrastructure. Their role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment within assigned facilities. The primary objective is to ensure optimal operational efficiency and maximize the longevity of these systems.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Schedule and coordinate maintenance with minimal disruption to building services.
  • Perform or delegate maintenance tasks to team members.
  • Order parts and equipment for repairs, maintenance, and installations.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to facility requests.
  • Adhere to JLL and client guidelines.
  • Review monthly facility service request summaries to identify and address recurring issues.
  • Assist the building engineering team in protecting and enhancing client assets.
  • Ensure building systems maintain their intended functionality.
  • Implement OM&R strategies for safe, reliable, and efficient electrical equipment within the assigned territory.
  • Monitor and evaluate maintenance work performed by external contractors and junior staff.
  • Coordinate with contractors and provide access to restricted areas (e.g., machinery rooms, electrical closets).
  • Provide technical assistance, training, and hands-on repair guidance to teams within the territory.
  • Perform advanced electrical maintenance, repair, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of safe work practices, especially regarding energized work, working at heights, and confined spaces.
  • Recognize, assess, and mitigate or eliminate risks.
  • Understand and use proper PPE for associated tasks.
  • Evaluate, train, and coach Maintenance Technicians as requested by management.
  • Ensure work is performed with minimal disruption and proper cleanup.
  • Comply with all JLL and regional company policies.
  • Assess customer needs, meet quality standards, and evaluate customer satisfaction.
  • Motor control, MCCs, VFDs, transformers (troubleshooting, installation, repair).
  • Medium/high voltage troubleshooting and switching.
  • Conduit bending and installation.
  • Circuit installation and troubleshooting.
  • Battery systems maintenance.
  • Perform hands-on repair and maintenance work on mechanical, electrical, door and gate systems, lighting systems, and various other R&M tasks.
  • Complete all other duties and tasks assigned by management.

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:

  • 5+ years relevant experience
  • Previous experience working in a Life Sciences or Medical facility a plus.

Required Skills and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Candidates should have either two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC, or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent on-the-job experience.
  • The ideal candidate must possess hands-on skills and knowledge to complete required electrical repairs and maintenance on commercial buildings and building systems. This includes, but is not limited to, HVAC, lighting, emergency power, transfer switches, uninterruptible power sources (UPS), generators, vertical transportation, life safety, and building automation systems. All work must be performed using industry-standard tools and in accordance with all applicable codes, laws, and regulations.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team is crucial.
  • Excellent communication skills are required to effectively interact with customers, contractors, and co-workers.
  • Proficiency in computer use is necessary, including familiarity with software programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Candidates must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • The role demands the ability to handle the physical aspects of the job, including standing, bending, lifting, and operating cleaning equipment.
  • The capacity to continuously stand and walk throughout the workday is essential.
  • 24/7 on-call availability is required for this position.
