Job Description :

Short Circuit Studies Engineer P3: 120-140k + 10% bonus As a Short Circuit Studies Engineer, you will join our Technical Consulting Team and be responsible for completing short circuit coordination and arc flash studies for commercial and industrial electrical systems. Your expertise in areas such as short circuit analysis, system coordination, transient stability analysis, and arc flash analysis, along with your proficiency in software tools like SKM Powertools or ETAP, will be essential in providing accurate and valuable insights for our clients. Key Responsibilities: Short Circuit Analysis: Conduct in-depth short circuit analysis for electrical systems to determine fault current magnitudes and their impacts on equipment, components, and protective devices. Utilize software tools like SKM Powertools or ETAP to perform simulations and computations accurately. System Coordination: Perform system coordination studies to ensure appropriate protection settings and coordination of protective devices, such as circuit breakers and fuses. Optimize the coordination of these devices to minimize disruptions and maintain continuity of electrical supply during fault events. Transient Stability Analysis: Analyze and assess the transient behavior and stability of electrical systems during fault conditions. Identify any issues related to system response, voltage dips, or frequency variations, and propose mitigation strategies to maintain system stability. Arc Flash Analysis: Conduct arc flash hazard analyses for electrical systems, evaluating potential risks and determining appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements for workers. Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards and regulations. Software Proficiency: Utilize industry-standard software tools, such as SKM Powertools or ETAP, to model and simulate electrical systems accurately. Develop and maintain libraries of electrical components, equipment, and protective devices within these software platforms. Technical Consulting: Collaborate with clients, project teams, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver customized and effective solutions. Provide expert recommendations and support throughout the project lifecycle. Report Preparation: Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing study results, findings, and recommendations, providing technical insights to internal and external stakeholders. Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner. Industry Knowledge: Stay updated with the latest electrical codes, industry standards, and regulations pertaining to short circuit studies and arc flash analysis. Apply this knowledge to ensure compliance and advise on best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is preferred. Strong experience in short circuit analysis, system coordination, transient stability analysis, and arc flash analysis. Proficiency in using software tools such as SKM Powertools, ETAP, or equivalent for modeling and simulations. Solid understanding of electrical power systems, including transformers, generators, switchgear, and protective devices. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to accurately evaluate complex electrical systems and fault scenarios. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with clients and stakeholders, both technical and non-technical. Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as IEEE, NEC, IEC, related to short circuit studies and arc flash analysis.
