To install, maintain and repair electrical wiring, equipment, systems and fixtures. To ensure work is in accordance with relevant codes and complies with applicable safety practices. Education & Experience High School diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in electrical systems preferred. Three (3) years experience as an electrician; maintenance in a healthcare or critical care infrastructure experience preferred.
Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required: Valid Driver's License required. Electrician's license or certification preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Knowledge of electrical systems, emergency generators and related equipment. Knowledge of relevant electrical codes, regulations and safety standards. Problem-solving skills; effective verbal and written communication skills; Interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities - Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical systems, including lighting, wiring, switchgear and distribution panels.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of emergency generators to ensure they are in optimal working condition. This includes testing, fuel system checks and compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Ensure all electrical work is performed in compliance with local, state and federal safety codes and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs and inspections including generator tests results and maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with other facilities technicians and health system departments to coordinate maintenance activities and respond effectively to electrical issues.
