JOB SUMMARY

Plans layout and installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. Plan new or modified installations, provides access for future maintenance, and avoids unsightly or hazardous configurations.SALARY

First Class $40.02/hour plus $2 shift differential

Second Class $36.92/hour plus $2 shift differential

Third Class $35.32/hour plus $2 shift differential

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Configure wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical code
• Prepares sketches showing location of all wiring and equipment or follow diagrams or blueprints prepared by others, insuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls and ceilings and flooring
• Measure cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit
• Routes and installs wiring and outside the factory
• Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads with knife of pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps
• Connects wiring to lightning fixtures and power equipment, installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels
• Connects power cables to equipment, such as pumps or motors
• Tests continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of all components, using standards of instruments, such as ohmmeter, battery, and buzzer and oscilloscope
• Maintains and repairs generators, motors transformers and other high voltage equipment
• Communicates orally and in writing. Read and understand oral and written policies, safety, and environmental requirements, and other company policies

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must possess an Electrician's License
• Considerable knowledge of electrical apparatus and procedures, electrical codes, techniques, and practices
• Skilled in the use of electrical testing, monitoring, and maintenance equipment
• Ability to troubleshoot multiple systems
• Ability to read and understand complex instructions, schematics, and blueprints
• Highschool or GED required
