Work directly for a Middlesex County, NJ area company that makes products to build highways, bridges and buildings all over the world.Electronic Maintenance Technician:Job Summary:Plan, lay out, and perform all operations required to install, troubleshoot, repair, construct, modify, calibrate, test, service, and program highly complex closed loop and digital electronic equipment in support of steel production operation and related plant facilities. Work involves a thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic wiring specification, properties of various materials and principles of operation and application of equipment.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:* Work involves a wide range of diversified and complex duties, including: installation, modification and repair of electrical and electronic equipment and controls, requiring much care to effectively diagnose, troubleshoot, and monitor highly automatic micro-processing equipment.* Have a strong understanding of operating systems and software packages used in the P.L.C. systems as required in order to bypass problem circuits and restore operations. The individual should be also capable of performing program changes when necessary.* More complex programming changes are accomplished by maintenance engineering staff.* Checks and calibrates plant instrumentation; routinely checks rolling mill, reheat furnace, and melt shop electronic systems; plans and assists facilitators with program changes in plant programmable logic controls.* Works closely with engineers and maintenance facilitators in planning systematic maintenance of electronic systems and instrumentation.* Provides technical assistance to maintenance and production personnel as needed.* Lay out, install, and maintain a variety of complex electronically controlled equipment such as rolling mill loop controls and secondary distribution centers; programmable sequences and pulpit controls panels; balance loads; wire complex circuits; and work with related diagnostic equipment including digital volt meter, paper recorder, multi-volt meter, oscilloscope, and other electronic tools and equipment.* Installation, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic controls and systems requires a thorough working knowledge and understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, fluidic, and electrical systems and components and how they operate.* Has a basic understanding of computer networks and a theoretical understanding of PC environments.* Observes and promotes all safety and 5S standardsAdditional Responsibilities:* Work closely with vendor representatives of electronic equipment and field engineers to remain current on latest diagnosis and repair techniques.* Maintain records, parts, and work orders.* Have a good understanding of operations of overall plant.* Perform all required safety related procedures related to safety of self or others such as lockout/tagout, confined space entry, etc.* Assist with plant housekeeping efforts and perform other duties and work assignments as required and directed.* When operating mobile equipment and/or overhead cranes, follow all prescribed safety guidelines and perform daily checks to insure equipment is maintained in proper working order.Job Requirements* Extensive experience in maintenance of relay and ladder logic, industrial communications networks, instrumentation and automation control systems* Experience or formal education and lab training on PLCs, or the ability to navigate block logic, ladder logic, or other digital logic interfaces* Experience with industrial electrical repairs including troubleshooting and repair of A/C - D/C drives and motors, PLC's and 480 Volt 3 phase electrical* Must be able to read technical documents and manuals and write job instructional training documents* Must practice safe working habits and follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations* Must be able to push and pull up to 90 lbs, carry 50 lbs, and climb ladders and steps* Must be able to work outside under all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold temperatures* Must be able to work rotating shifts which may include days, nights, weekends and holidaysEducation* High School Diploma or GED required* Graduate of an instrumentation, electronics or mechatronics program from a recognized trade school.Jackson TuapanteSynerfac Technical StaffingPhone: 732-###-####
