Compensation: $26.49 - $34.28 per hour

Overview:

A premier international law firm partnering with OnLibra is looking for a detail-oriented Electronic Resources Assistant to join its team in managing the firm's electronic resources. This role is ideal for an individual who has recently completed their MLS or has strong experience in electronic resources management, particularly in technical services and vendor management. The role requires expertise in library management tools, technical support, and a strong proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain electronic resources and library management tools, ensuring seamless access and availability for firm attorneys and staff.
  • Perform vendor management tasks, including evaluating and negotiating with electronic resource vendors, ensuring contract compliance, and resolving issues related to resource access.
  • Assist in the acquisition, licensing, and renewal of electronic resources, keeping track of contracts and subscriptions.
  • Provide technical support for library management systems and troubleshooting access issues related to electronic resources.
  • Assist with data management tasks, including maintaining electronic resource inventories, tracking usage statistics, and generating reports.
  • Ensure that electronic resources are properly cataloged and accessible through the firm's integrated systems.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and resources for staff on using electronic tools effectively.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other departments to improve the delivery of electronic resources to the firm.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Master of Library Science (MLS) or equivalent degree, with experience in electronic resources management. Candidates with a Bachelor's degree and relevant work experience will also be considered.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access for data management and reporting.
  • Knowledge of electronic resource management and library management tools, including integrated library systems (ILS).
  • Experience in vendor management, including contract negotiations and managing subscriptions.
  • Familiarity with best practices in technical services and the management of digital resources.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and communicate complex information clearly to non-technical staff.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to access and usage of electronic resources.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in an academic or law firm environment.
  • Familiarity with legal research tools and databases.
  • Experience with digital resource licensing and management, especially in a large firm or organization.
  • Comfort with training staff and creating instructional materials for electronic systems.
