Job Description

The Electronics Engineer plays a crucial role in the Product Development Team and is primarily responsible for ensuring the functional, regulatory, and environmental requirements for electronic products and systems are met. This role involves coordinating and implementing new product designs, schematics, board layouts, BOMs, and contributing to test plans and test fixtures. The Electronics Engineer should have expertise in firmware development for embedded systems and communications protocols.

Responsibilities

+ Ensure functional, regulatory, and environmental requirements for electronic products and systems are met.

+ Coordinate and implement new product designs, schematics, and board layouts.

+ Develop and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs).

+ Contribute to test plans and develop test fixtures.

+ Develop firmware for embedded systems.

+ Work with communications protocols to ensure product functionality.

+ Document and execute testing of electronic products and systems.

Essential Skills

+ 2-3+ years of experience in developing electronic microcontroller-based embedded systems and design using Altium (OrCad is fine too)

+ Proficiency in Altium Schematic Capture and Board Layout software.

+ Experience with compilers, linkers, locators, and IDEs for embedded software development.

+ Strong experience in hardware and electrical design.

+ Expertise in electronics and embedded systems.

+ Proficiency in C programming.

+ Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, analyzers

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in electrical or computer engineering.

+ Experience with Vehicle Multiplex hardware or software.

+ Knowledge of progressive disciplines such as Six-Sigma and 6/S.

+ Application experience with testing electronic products/systems for internal combustion engines, heavy-duty custom trucks, and industrial pumps.

Work Environment

The work environment includes collaborative work within a product development team, utilizing advanced technologies and equipment such as Altium for schematic capture and board layout. The role requires adherence to testing protocols and documentation standards. The dress code is business casual, and the work hours are standard, with occasional requirements for extended hours based on project needs.
