What you will do:

Johnson Controls Fire Detection Products is currently recruiting an Electronics Technician to work at our Westford, MA location. The Electronics Technician will be working from written or verbal instruction, perform the fabrication and testing of electronic assemblies and systems. A major portion of this job is the configuration of systems for test, including both hardware and software, and the testing of these systems for specified performance and for compliance with criteria in test plans and in agency standards.

How you will do it:

  • Configure systems and perform tests on new and legacy products in an R&D environment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuit board assemblies to component level.
  • Successful candidates will be comfortable in a collaborative and team-oriented setting.

What we look for:

Education/Experience:

  • 1-5 years' experience in a similar technical position
  • ASEET or equivalent training is a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Working knowledge of electrical units of measurement, including volt, ohm, ampere, hertz, etc.
  • Manual dexterity and skill sufficient to assemble and repair printed circuit assemblies (SMT & through-hole), and experience with the specialized tools used in these tasks.
  • Working knowledge of AC and DC electronic circuits.
  • Familiarity with test equipment used in product development such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and meters.
  • Familiarity with electrical and electronic components.
  • Ability to communicate via e-mail and written reports.
