Job Title: Elementary Teacher (2025-2026 School Year) Location: Newville, PA 17241 Join River Rock Academy, a Pennsylvania Department of Education Approved Licensed Academic School and Private Provider, dedicated to empowering students in Grades 1-12 through transformative educational services. Your Role as an Elementary Teacher:
  • Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to design and implement appropriate services for students.
  • Classroom Leadership: Provide guidance, leadership, and direction within the classroom. Teach Multiple Subjects: May be responsible for teaching multiple subject areas, depending on the needs of the students. Maintain Student Confidentiality: Ensure student confidentiality by adhering to agency policy, FERPA, HIPAA privacy regulations, and confidentiality standards. Track Student Progress: Monitor and assess student development, adjusting instructional strategies as needed to support student success. Manage Challenging Behaviors: Implement behavior support plans and manage challenging behaviors as needed. Support Collaborative Environment: Work closely with paraprofessionals, support staff, and parents to foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Advocate for Students: Ensure compliance with educational laws and advocate for the rights and needs of students with disabilities. Create Positive Learning Space: Build a positive, engaging classroom environment where every student feels supported and can thrive
Required Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in special education, education, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for Special Education: Demonstrated patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students with special needs succeed.
Preferred/Nice to Have:
  • PA Teaching Certification: Valid PA Teaching Certification in Special Education (sponsorship available).
  • IEP Experience: Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
