Job Summary:

Assists all aspects of the elevator operation including mixing feed, loading/unloading a variety of commodities, and maintaining and operating equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operates feed mixing machinery such as conveyors, blowers, and mixers.
  • Loads the correct amount of ingredients into mixer to make feed products to specifications.
  • Loads sacks, boxes, or guides discharge spout over customer and company-owned trucks with various feed, meal, and agronomy products.
  • Lubricates, adjusts, and makes minor repairs on machinery and equipment to obtain optimum performance and production.
  • Positions boxes or attach bags at discharge end of conveyor to catch products.
  • Observes machine operation to detect malfunctions and adjusts machine, lubricates parts, and replaces pieces to improve performance.
  • Daily inspection of equipment for defects and safe operating condition and completes a vehicle condition report at the end of each day. Report any/all defects or safety issues to maintenance supervisor or other appropriate company officials.
  • Unloads grain/ingredients at designated pit.
  • Follows all company and regulatory food safety policies and procedures and reports any potential food safety issues to management.
  • Receive and inspect incoming raw materials, process aids, and packaging materials relevant to department.
  • Helps support and ensure compliance with company Safety/Environmental/Quality/HR program policies and procedures.
  • Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety requirements.
  • Provides a Customer Service attitude when interacting with internal and external customers while accomplishing work, production, and achieving quality standards.
  • Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe workstation/environment at all times.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Education and Experience:

  • Education: High School or Equivalent
  • Experience: 6 months to 1 years preferred
  • Experience mixing feed products preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to safely operate heavy equipment and complete inspection checks.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment; manages competing demands; able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional manner in dealing with other departments, working to maintain constructive working relationships under all circumstances.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
  • Ability to maintain good attendance habits.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Abide by all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description.
  • Abide by companys safety, quality, environmental and HR policies at all times.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit; use hands to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb to levels of 125 feet as well as balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • While outside the office, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat or cold temperatures; risk of electrical shock and vibration.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Compensation details: 21-21 Hourly Wage
