Position Overview

The Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT) is seeking to hire qualified candidates with the opportunity to work in a dynamic, creative thinking, problem solving environment. This position serves as an Email and Mobile Phone Specialist and Support Technician assisting in email and mobile phone account provisioning and offering technical support and assistance to end users of the Enterprise Email network. In this role you will provide information and problem
solving through telephone support or direct contact with e-mail users on operating procedure. In addition, you will collaborate on various projects as a team member using hardware/software systems and applications including Active Directory, eDirectory, Microsoft Desktop OS, Exchange Client, Mobile Iron, ListServer, and Rightfax server administration and our Mobile Device Request System. This position also performs limited upgrades and maintenance of migration servers including ListServer, Rightfax, and other software and assists in training end users by providing one-on-one training via email and/or via phone support. Essential Functions
* Under immediate supervision, serves as an Email and Mobile Phone Specialist and Support Technician providing technical support and email /mobile phone account provisioning assistance to end users of the Enterprise Email network for the Department of Innovation & Technology (DoIT).
* Provides information and problem solving through telephone support or direct contact with email users on operating procedures.
* Assists with various projects as a team member using hardware or software systems and applications including Active Directory, eDirectory, Microsoft Desktop OS, Exchange Client, Mobile Iron, ListServer, Rightfax server administration, and the Mobile Device Request System.

* Keeps abreast of new developments in the information technology field by continuing education through meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to increase familiarity with and remain current on products, vendors, techniques, and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
* Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college with course work in computer science or directly related fields.
OR
* Requires satisfactory completion of an agency sponsored training program.
Preferred Qualifications
* Elementary knowledge of Active Directory, eDirectory, or Microsoft Desktop OS, and applications such as Exchange Client, Mobile Iron, ListServer, or Rightfax server administration.
* Elementary knowledge of Information Technology concepts and principles.
* Elementary knowledge of the theories and functions of computer systems.
* Elementary knowledge of the principles and techniques of Informational Technology documentation.
* Elementary knowledge of hardware and software, languages, and procedures to provide assigned technical support services.

Medium work involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
