Licensed Embalmer

Shift: Night Shift, 11 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

Location: Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries Hollywood Hills

We are looking to hire a California Licensed Embalmer to work our night shift from 11 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. If you're a CA licensed embalmer look no further – hands down, we are the best funeral home in town! In this position you will take first calls. You will be dealing with families in their darkest hour, so your customer service skills must be on point! Our Embalmers who work the overnight shift receive customer calls during that shift. In addition to taking first calls, you will arrange for decedent transport. However, the primary duty is caring for decedents and preparing them for final disposition. Your computer skills must be solid and your attention to detail must be strong. Paperwork is part of the deal!

JOB DUTIES

  • Prepare Decedents - receiving and verifying the decedent's identity; taking inventory of personal effects; setting features; bathing and disinfecting; embalming if requested; applying cosmetics, hairstyling, dressing, casketing of decedent and all other aspects of preparation.
  • Receive and Dispatch First Calls - obtaining necessary information; recording information; directing clients accordingly.
  • Maintain Preparation and Dressing Rooms - cleaning and disinfecting as necessary in accordance with industry standards.

    • JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIFICATIONS

    Licenses: Driver's license, California Embalmer Licensure

    Knowledge: State of California regulatory requirements and mortuary industry standards

    Skills & Abilities:

    · Proficient in all aspects of case preparation

    · Be a team player; be flexible

    · Demonstrate superior communication skills, both verbal and written

    · Positive attitude is a must

    · Willingness to learn

    · Computer skills

    Working Conditions:

    Sitting, standing, bending, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
