Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Director to lead and manage a team of 19 full-time employees within a growing healthcare facility. The Director will oversee the daily operations of the Emergency Department, ensuring high-quality patient care while managing staff and resources. The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience and clinical expertise in the emergency department setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Emergency Department team, ensuring efficient patient flow and high standards of care.
  • Supervise and support a team of 19 FTEs to meet patient needs and departmental objectives.
  • Oversee daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and ensuring adequate coverage for all shifts.
  • Fill in for staff during shortages or emergencies, including working during day and night shifts and weekends.
  • Monitor and maintain the ED's performance metrics and report on case volume, which averages 30-35 visits per day.
  • Collaborate with the CNO for strategic planning, departmental goals, and performance assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and standards for patient care and safety.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related healthcare field (Master's preferred).
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in an Emergency Department, with at least 1 year in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, management, and communication skills. Ability to manage staff effectively and handle the high-paced, critical environment of an emergency department.
