Under the supervision of an RN, performs basic patient care activities, including inserting saline locks, blood draws, placing patients on monitors, performing EKG's. Answers phone and makes calls for physicians. Initiates calls for transfers at providers' request. Stocks supplies in rooms, cleans and turns over rooms after patient leaves.
Qualifications
Must be either 3rd or 4th semester nursing student, or medical assistant program and currently attending school, or licensed EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P.
Minimum education
High school diploma or equivalent: Required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS)-- Handle With Care (HWC)
