White Plains Hospital is seeking a full-time, dedicated Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant to join our esteemed team. In this crucial role, you will provide exceptional care to patients in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As the busiest emergency department in Westchester County, we treat 85,000 patients annually across both adult and pediatric emergency departments. We offer full ancillary and specialty support, including a state-of-the-art simulation lab.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director and Associate Directors of Emergency Medicine, the Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant provides medical care to patients in the Emergency Department and performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and treat patients presenting for care in the Emergency Department.
• Evaluate and treat patients throughout the hospital in consultation with attending physicians when called by nursing staff.
• Consult with private physicians concerning their patients in the Emergency Department and advise on admission needs.
• Institute immediate intervention in life-threatening emergencies.
• Ensure patient safety in the department in the absence of their private physician.
• Document evaluations and treatments in the Emergency Department medical record and provide patients with discharge instructions.
• Work assigned shifts and respond to cardiac arrests or emergency calls from inpatient units as needed.

Annual Base Salary:

$133,000–$175,000 (based on years of experience)

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Current New York State Registration as a Physician Assistant.
• Current White Plains Hospital Center Collaborating Physician Certification Form Agreement.
• Minimum one-year experience as a Physician Assistant in an appropriate clinical setting.
• Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS Certification.
• Proficiency in all procedures and skills listed in the delineation of privileges for Emergency Department Physician Assistants.
• Minimum of 50 hours of approved CME annually.
