Employee Relations Consultant
Contract: Through March, 2025
Location: Renton, WA
Hours 8:00am to 5:00pm
Essential Functions:
- Perform essential job duties as listed; other duties may be assigned and considered essential.
- Must be fluent in English to perform essential functions satisfactorily; fluency level varies by position.

- For direct patient care roles: Maintain currency of essential competencies as required by specific area of hire and populations served.
Employee Relations (ER) Consulting:
- Serve as a consultant to core leaders on employee relations matters requiring content and subject matter expertise.
- Provide consultation on complex investigations and recommend appropriate corrective actions and discipline.
- Identify and escalate highly complex or potential Title VII allegations to Sr. HR Consultant.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for problem resolution between core leaders and caregivers.
- Manage risk and deploy best practices in ER services administration (e.g., Regulatory Bodies, EEOC, ADA/LOA, Wage & Hour, Wrongful Discharge).
- Advocate for fair and appropriate workplace practices in line with mission, values, and legal parameters.
- Lead challenging conversations and interactions.
- Promote and utilize HR technology, metrics, and systems to support business needs.
- Ensure accurate and timely case management using ServiceNow system for data compliance, integrity, and reporting.
- Focus on real-time ER assessments, investigations, and recommendations.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with core leaders, local HR, HRSC, HR Connect, HR Consultants, and others, including Labor/Employment counsel as appropriate.
- Demonstrate service excellence and positive interpersonal relations to maximize productivity and service delivery.
- Respond timely to complex questions, researching appropriate information and soliciting SME input when necessary.
- Escalate issues through a formalized issue/inquiry escalation process within HR Consulting and to other business partners as applicable.
- Resolve core leader and caregiver questions and concerns throughout the employment life cycle.
- Provide and advise core leaders on HR policies, procedures, and protocols.
Compliance and Confidentiality:
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge and application of all compliance and legal requirements based on the job's scope of practice.
- Use critical thinking and strategic methodology to identify and develop innovative service delivery solutions.
- Provide ER Consulting expertise on projects and may lead small projects.
- Assure compliance with confidentiality policies in accordance with State and Federal laws, maintaining confidentiality of caregiver, patient, and business-related information.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, including verbal and written communication.
- Listen for key messages/themes and identify all sides of issues, separating facts and data from emotion.
- Effectively educate and influence caregivers and leaders.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of employee relations principles, including Federal and State employment laws, organizational policies, and collective bargaining agreements.
