Join us and make your passion your profession!Position OverviewThis position provides an advanced level of partnership and support to employees, managers, and functional areas of Human Resources (HR) by providing support and guidance on various areas of employee relations, performance management, employee retention, coaching/development, conflict management and ad hoc projects as necessary.Function Related Activities/Key ResponsibilitiesServes as the first point of contact for employee queries, providing beneficial resolutions while grafting harmonious relationships between parties.Coaches, counsels and guides managers regarding performance issues, corrective actions and termination decisions.Escalates complex or sensitive cases to higher management or HR leadership when necessary.Facilitates both the voluntary and involuntary termination processes including logistics, conducting exit interviews; reviewing and processing terminations; analyzing trends and recommending process improvements.Adheres to labor relation laws by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions.Maintains and processes all Unemployment Notices of Entitlement and potential charges in a timely, efficient manner. Attends unemployment hearings when necessary.Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary action; Maintains all employee documentation as dictated by governing agencies.Monitors company specific reports, and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees who have violated such reports.May lead special projects.May be requested to perform different or additional duties as assigned.Position RequirementsBachelor's degree in human resources or related fieldThree (3) years of experience in coordinating employee relations activities, providing advice and consultation to all levels of management on employee relations issues.Experience with Community Coffee, even if unrelated, may fulfill this requirement at the discretion of the hiring manager with approval from Human Resources.Proficient in the administration of HR policies, procedures, and regulations.SHRM certification preferred, or the ability to obtain SHRM-CP/PHR certification within the first year.What We're Looking ForWorking knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations (multi-state), compliance and employee relations matters; specific but not limited to EEOC, ADAA, FMLA, etc.Experience leading multiple, concurrent, high-priority employee relations activities with a focus on providing clear guidance and timely and consistent execution.Ability to review concerns holistically, anticipate potential issues and diagnose the root cause through active listening and conscientious inquiry. Partner with appropriate teams to drive resolution.Ability to work both autonomously and as a team, while developing strong professional relationships with peers, managers, executives, and cross-functional teams across diverse organizations.Effective in detailing and documenting case notes, investigation summaries, and correspondence with employees and partners.Excellent communication skills - both verbal and writtenPrior experience with HRIS systems, Dayforce preferredPhysical Demands/Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
