Goodwill is hiring an Employment Coach for the Strides Program, a supported employment program focused on assisting individuals with mental health challenges find and retain meaningful employment. A compassionate, self-motivated, and goal-oriented individual is needed to provide personalized support and guidance to participants as they navigate the challenges of employment, focusing on enhancing job readiness, connecting with employers, and ensuring long-term success in the workplace.This is a community-based position with a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the individuals served and pays $21.00 an hour with full benefits. Applicants must be able to provide their own transportation to various sites in the community.Key Responsibilities:•Help participants build job skills and adjust to workplace culture to support long-term employment and independence•Serve as a liaison between employers, participants, and Goodwill staff, ensuring alignment with both business and the mission of Goodwill•Offer person-centered planning to help participants achieve their goals and foster self-sufficiency•Support job retention through coaching, mentoring, progress monitoring, problem-solving, and jobsite visits as needed•Track and record participant and employment data in the system•Handle documentation properly, ensuring confidentiality•Provide employment counseling, advocacy, and ongoing support•Foster collaboration within teams, departments, and across the organization•Assist participants in setting career goals and accessing training, services, and resources to overcome barriers to employment•Maintain regular contact with participants, employers, and funders to monitor progress and adjust plans as needed•Connect participants with employers and job opportunities to support job placement and retentionBenefits:•Full-time employees will receive up to 20 paid vacation days in the first year•Additional paid holidays vary by position and department•Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, and Accidental insurances available•Medical insurance available to full-time employees•401k plan with employer match after six months•Professional development and personal support services•One-on-one coaching to reach career and educational goals•Education benefits including reimbursement and up to 4 hours of paid study time•20% employee discount at the Greater Grand Rapids retail storesRequirementsBachelor's degree in Human Services, Education or related field required. Prefer one-year experience in a human service setting providing direct and/or supportive services to individuals with disabilities and/or barriers to employment preferred. Some positions may require specialized experience, education, licensure, etc. Must be able to provide own transportation to various sites in the community to fulfill the obligations of this position.
