The goal of Supported Employment services is sustained, paid, integrated employment at or above the minimum wage in the general workforce, in a job that meets the individual's personal and career goals. This includes career discovery and development, job placement, and/or career coaching. An Employment Specialist will work with individuals to identify their personal interests, preferences and needs through person-centered exploration. Services offered include assistance in resume-writing, completing job applications, and interview preparation. As needed, the Employment Specialist may accompany the individual to an interview. This is a person-centered career planning service that allows individuals with disabilities to cultivate and realize their dreams.
