TCC's institutional accreditation is affirmed through 2027 by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.Utilizing various methods of instructional delivery, the EMS Instructional Assistant will assist program faculty in providing instruction and evaluation of psychomotor skills as delineated in the program curriculum, National and Virginia EMS Education Standards, and the National EMS Scope of Practice.Employees will work varying shifts as needed to support program goals including possible evenings and weekends. A minimum of 12 hours per month required (4 hours per month for those also serving as adjunct faculty within the program).Employee will act as a lab proctor during scheduled EMS lab activities providing instruction, evaluation, and proper documentation of psychomotor skills or clinical preceptor in the clinical environment. Provide regular quality feedback to program faculty regarding psychomotor progress and curriculum. Participate in ongoing professional development activities. Work effectively and collaboratively in a diverse educational environment. Utilize high levels of energy, creativity, and motivation to foster learning. Demonstrate current knowledge of EMS education standards. Adhere to EMS program policies, Tidewater Community College policies, and the Virginia Community College System as well as the Virginia Office of EMS rules and regulations.Special AssignmentsMay be required to perform other duties as assigned.
