Job Summary

Responsible for participating as an technical expert in project teams, troubleshooting operational issues, providing technical solutions to operational problems, contributing to new products implementation, implementing existing products and services and providing the overall upkeep and maintenance of designated areas of engineering. Interfaces with vendors, Engineering and peer operations organizations. Acts in compliance with industry and Company technical requirements, standards, policies and procedures. Provides technical leadership to junior Engineers and project teams. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. Does not have any direct supervisory responsibilities. May direct workflow and act as a technical lead. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Deploy, schedule, and monitor ETL workflows on cloud platforms like Databricks, AWS Glue, and AWS EMR.
  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS Lambda functions using Java. Configure AWS Application Gateway to expose Lambda functions as external APIs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest data technologies and trends. Conduct research and develop proof-of-concepts to evaluate their potential impact on our data infrastructure.
  • Manage and maintain web application infrastructure, including servers, databases, and network components.
  • Architect, develop, and deploy high-availability web applications with Angular frontends and Spring Boot backends.
  • Deploy and configure web applications, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Monitor web application performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
  • Mentor Jr Data Engineers and Web application developers, providing technical guidance and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Build and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines using Apache Spark and Scala. Extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources, including S3, APIs, and databases.
  • Effectively manage AWS accounts, ensuring compliance with security standards and best practices.
  • Optimize Databricks cluster performance and resource allocation.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Strong proficiency in data engineering principles, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts
  • Expertise in Apache Spark, Scala, Java, Python, and SQL/NoSQL databases.
  • Strong Proficiency with cloud platforms, particularly AWS (EC2, S3, Lambda, Glue, EMR, Athena, SNS, CloudWatch)
  • Expert in web development frameworks like Angular and Spring Boot and CI/CD tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Preferably candidate with AWS Certified Solution Architect
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
