Company DescriptionJob DescriptionResponsible for designing technology systems to support business operations and maximize productivity, minimizing costing effects, and develop efficient and fast deliverables. Automation & controls engineers analyze client specifications and business requirements, running multiple diagnostic and troubleshooting tests to ensure the accuracy of outputs according to budget limitations and project management procedures. They must have exceptional knowledge of the technology industry, especially on writing system codes and a strong command of programming languages.Organizational Relationship:This position will report to the Facility and Maintenance ManagerKey Accountabilities
  • Provide operations support including maintenance, fault diagnosis, installation and modifications to field instruments, process control systems, process safety systems, Fire & Gas systems, and other electrical and electronic equipment.
  • Support manufacturing operations automated controls systems, modify programs to refine movement of robot using the various controllers, and work with vendors and design teams.
  • Support all projects that involve controls and automation.
  • Designs technology systems to support business operations and maximize productivity, minimizing costing effects, and develop efficient and fast deliverables.
  • Define functional requirements through stakeholder interviews documentation analysis and Workflow Process Mapping (Value Stream Maps)
  • Provide expert knowledge and experience to develop the technical requirements to improve/implement complex manufacturing system solutions.
  • Execute projects involving the development and implementation of manufacturing system solutions.
  • Ability to generate manufacturing-based reporting and dashboards.
  • Must demonstrate initiative and show ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Become an organizational manufacturing systems subject matter expert.
  • Responsible for technical deliverables during the entire lifecycle of manufacturing system projects
  • Onsite support for all start-ups at internal manufacturing facilities
  • Proactively work with stakeholders to define the best technical approach for system solutions.
  • Engage with internal customers to understand plant centric requirements.
  • Maintain technical skills and knowledge in a fast-paced system and technology environment!
  • Effectively apply project management methodology and embrace project standards.
  • Proactively report on project progress against scope schedule cost and performance
  • Assist existing project sponsors in problem resolution and help define future opportunities.
  • Provide support to existing solutions.
  • Conduct a variety of organizational studies investigations and operational studies; recommends modifications to processes and procedures as appropriate.

Education & Experience
  • Strong analytical problem solving and change management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
  • 4-6 years of engineer and/or leadership experience in manufacturing preferred
  • Minimum 3 years work experience with manufacturing systems automation or process control systems or software development in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must be willing and able to travel.
  • Excellent understanding of key manufacturing processes in order to develop and execute the system strategies.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve on-site and remote application related computing problems.
  • Strong computer skills with ability to quickly learn new software/applications.
  • Project management - initiating planning executing project work
  • Experience developing user requirements and functional specifications for manufacturing solutions.
  • Ability to effectively influence and work in cooperation with cross functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a cross functional organization and effectively lead without direct positional authority.
  • Strong communication presentation and teamwork skills including the ability to write clear and concise technical documentation.
  • Lean certification or Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is a plus.
  • Prior experience successfully implementing new equipment launches such as robotic integration to existing manufacturing processes.
