During your internship, you will gain experience and exposure to practical engineering applications within the utility industry. Students work alongside experienced engineers and will perform a variety of projects and assignments that have specific instructions and expected results.
Responsibilities:
Transmission Investment Planning: The co-op will assist in analyzing and organizing data, focusing on asset nameplate information and asset health data. The co-op will learn how to review as-built drawings and comparing to digital records, assist with monthly performance reporting and review and analyze algorithms related to asset health to ensure accuracy and reliability; improve the quality of data. The co-op will also assist with development of need statements and project proposals for upcoming initiatives, and create and maintain spreadsheets, databases and dashboards to accommodate data requests and enhance data visualization.
Major Accountabilities
Identifies opportunities for improvement and/or suggests improved methods.
Gathers, correlates, and analyzes specific data using established procedures.
Performs detailed and/or routine engineering assignments involving established calculations, tests and analysis.
Performs a variety of routine tasks that will improve the individuals familiarization with the engineering methods, practices, and programs of the Company.
Supports operating and maintenance functions with engineering analysis, troubleshooting, problem identification, problem resolution activities.
Assists Senior Engineers and/or Engineer I, II and III with large projects, as needed.
Assists with the development of station/engineering goals, objectives, budgets, programs and procedures.
Plans and controls all activities so as to provide an accident-free work place.
Conducts work activities with regard to environmental rules and regulations.
Regularly reviews assignments to assure optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Performs other duties as directed by management.
Qualifications:Required Education/Experience
Available part time during the fall 2024 semester (August - December)
Pursuing a Bachelors degree with declared major in Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Minimum 2.50 GPA
Work Conditions
Combination of office and field work.
Physical Effort
Primarily sitting, with occasional walking and standing.
