Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for an Engineer Software – Software Applications Test Engineer (24-400 & 24-401) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL. Position Overview: The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities. As member of the Regional Applications Agile Release Train (ART) of the Missile Defense National Team for Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) (aka C2BMC NT), this position will participate in software design and peer reviews, develop test specifications and infrastructure, execute manual and automated test and perform analysis of C2BMC implementation in an integrated environment or to test specific capabilities for interfaces or infrastructure in support of operations (e.g., Internal Messaging, control and monitoring, message and display recording and playback, failover processing). Essential Functions: Possess knowledge and limited experience in testing and evaluating a software-intensive system in a variety of test environments/venues, utilizing Agile development. Requires a strong, self-starting individual capable of diving into problems with assistance from other test engineers and software developers. Occasional travel between Colorado Springs facilities/sites and Huntsville, AL, is expected. Basic Qualifications: Please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable. An active Secret clearance is required to start. 2 years' experience with a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 0 years' experience with a master's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field. Test knowledge and experience. Knowledge of an Agile development process. Automated testing for requirement verification and performance assessment Requirement and verification analysis. Conducting post-processing and analysis of collected data. Development of action plans based upon analysis of data. Documenting software deficiency reports. Presenting analysis results and plans of action orally and/or in written format (e.g., slides, annotated slides, test report document). Must possess strong verbal/written communication skills, enabling him/her to work effectively in a small technical team environment. Preferred Qualifications: DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is highly desired. Knowledge in a DevSecOps environment is extremely desirable. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
