The O-AT-KA Milk Products LLC plant is in Batavia, NY. The products produced at this facility include butter, powdered milk, evaporated milk, cream, and specialty beverages.Our Engineering Internship program will run from January 2025 - August 2025.Duties and Responsibilities:Assists the Engineering Department by documenting and supporting capital projects including:
- Prepare or revise plant layout drawings with new or relocated equipment.
- Prepare project documentation.
- Revise plant utility Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
- Other project supporting tasks as assigned.
Experience & Education Required:Actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline; preferably Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.Additional Experience Required:
- Ability to read, develop, and change schematic diagrams, equipment, and architectural drawings.
- Ability to modify the layout of an equipment area to enhance its efficiency or accommodate new equipment.
- Understanding of utility piping, valves, and instrumentation.
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Possess strong attention to detail.
- Good organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point), and AutoCAD software.
- Ability to effectively work independently.

A high degree of confidentiality is required in this role.Management ResponsibilityThe Engineering Intern is an individual contributor role and operates under the general direction of the Engineering Manager.Work EnvironmentPerforms duties in both an office and manufacturing environment with majority of time in the Plant offices. Must be able to see, sit, stand, bend, and reach. Ability to operate general office equipment (computer, phone, calculator, copier, etc.) and lift up to 35 lbs. required. Must adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and wear appropriate PPE when in the Manufacturing plant and exposed to loud noise, hot/cold temperatures, and wet floors.Pay: $24.00 USD per hour**The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position.
