The Analytical Engineering Manager will drive standardization, quality, and improvement of analytical team work while fostering a positive work environment and developing team members.Principle Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead analytical efforts for new designs, nonconformances, and obsolete part replacement, including design, testing, and reporting.
    • Shock, vibration, and seismic qualifications
    • Lifting and structural analysis
    • Troubleshooting related to manufacturing and testing
  • Manage and prioritize team workload
  • Standardize, improve, and coordinate application of best-practice analysis and reporting guidelines
  • Review engineering changes, reports, etc and provide actionable feedback to ensure high quality and easy approval by our stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop team members on technical acumen, communication, and soft skills.
  • Support adjacent departments and functions as needed.
  • Build and maintain centrally located analysis reports and models.
Qualifications, Skills and Educational Requirements
  • BSME with 5 years of experience in an engineering analysis role. Related engineering fields will be considered.
    • Emphasis in dynamics, vibration, and/or material science strongly desired.
    • Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Management strongly desired
  • Understanding of complex mechanical engineering systems and components
    • Experience in Diesel engine design and development strongly desired.
  • Creative thinking, highly motivated, and the ability to work as an individual, a team member, and a team leader.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills
  • Experience working with 3D modeling design tools (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Stress analysis experience using hand calculations and FEA (ANSYS preferred)
  • MathCAD, MATLAB, and/or Maple experience is beneficial
  • Experience in solving problems in solid mechanics, dynamics, and/or thermal-fluids systems
  • This position requires access or potential access to Unclassified Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information, which is Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirement, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
