Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

We are seeking a seasoned Utilities and Systems Engineering Manager to join our team at ALTIVIA, a leading producer of phosgene derivative intermediates and the operator of the third-largest merchant production facility for phenol, acetone, and alpha-methyl styrene (AMS) in the Americas. This position offers a unique opportunity to oversee and enhance utility systems, champion innovative solutions, and guide a team of skilled engineers and technical staff. As a key member of the site leadership team, you will drive impactful changes, foster a culture of innovation, and play a vital role in improving operations across the site, including those of tenant companies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Ensure Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance and lead the management of change processes.

* Oversee engineering records, process specifications, and piping specifications.

* Collaborate with engineers, tenant companies, and cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical challenges.

* Lead and support capital project work to improve and expand facilities, including new distillation and control systems.

* Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of 2-5 engineers and draftsmen, fostering professional development and technical excellence.

* Develop and implement training protocols for junior engineers and staff.

* Collaborate with site leadership to achieve operational excellence and meet business objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

* 10+ years of experience in engineering roles within the chemical industry.

* Demonstrated experience with utilities systems, process engineering, and compliance requirements.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

* 15+ years of experience in engineering roles within the chemical industry.

* Hands-on experience with reactive chemistry, distillation systems, and utilities optimization.

* Prior leadership experience in managing teams and driving process improvement.

* Familiarity with aging site challenges and modernization efforts.
