The City of Richland's Public Works Engineering Group is looking for a well-qualified Engineering Technician II to join their team! Position is as a CAD designer working on engineering projects covering all aspects of the public works, parks, and economic development. Mentoring opportunities are available from experienced designers and engineers within the group.This job is open until filled.Target hiring range is $31.26 to $37.52 hourly DOQ.GENERAL SUMMARYPerforms intermediate semiskilled work for field and office engineering operations of assigned department or division, and related work as apparent or assigned. The values of Teamwork, Integrity, and Excellence promote and maintain a high level of morale and productivity and are the tie that binds all City employees together, across all functions.Click here to view the full position description to include essential job functions and working conditions.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS* Obtain Flagger Certification within six (6) months of hire and maintain for duration of employment.* Valid driver's license.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEAssociates Degree in engineering technology, CADD or related field and one (1) year experience in design and drafting, construction inspection, materials inspection or utility locating, or equivalent combination of education and experience.* Civil design or civil construction related experience.* Experience using Civil3d to design projects.Selection will be based on overall qualifications, skills testing (if applicable) and an interview process. Final candidate selected will be subject to a comprehensive background/reference check and pre-employment physical (if applicable) commensurate to the position.
