Furthermore, he/she will coordinate and perform inspections of other work being conducted on County rights-of-way under other permits or agree. A person in this position must be able to travel to construction sites throughout the County and must have a good understanding of the County's Highway network. This individual shall also successfully complete any job/duty deemed necessary by the Construction Engineer or his/her Designee.This position requires driving as an essential function of the position. Update and maintain applications for various permits in the County rights-of-way.Create GIS drawings and enter projects into ARCGIS database.Process applications to determine if the appropriate regulations are met.Correspond with applicant and any other County employees.Create agenda items for License Agreements. Inspections
Inspects workmanship and materials of the construction of County projects, utility, and R.O.W. work to ensure compliance with approved plans. This includes site grading work, erosion control, pavement, water, sewer, and other utilities.Inspects all traffic control devices (temporary & permanent) in permitted projects to ensure they are in working order and serving their purpose.Complete required inspection forms and correspondence to appropriate representatives.Follow-up on comments to ensure completion. Reporting and Controlling
Keep a diary of work progress for each permitted project and prepare weekly progress reports, etc.Determines quantities used in completion of project for estimates of quantities, if needed.Fill out and submit all required forms and supporting data.Prepare daily work activity sheets for record keeping.Review final as-built drawings for accuracy.Maintain database of all permitted projects. High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years' experience preferred, but not required.Have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the County's insurance standards. Other Characteristics
