Job Summary: The candidate's main function is to clarify incoming orders that may not flow through the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system without some manual manipulation. SAP is used as the ERP system, and the BoMs are created using variant configuration; however, the variant configuration cannot cover 100% of all scenarios for which a product is ordered. The candidate will be required to manipulate those orders where the bills of material did not explode correctly so that the product can be produced and delivered as ordered. In addition to clarifying orders, the candidate may be required to perform system testing, communicate changes and updates to the production staff, and provide aid in basic investigations on the production floor. Such investigations may be related to any facet of production such as consumption errors in the bills of material or part compatibility.Major Responsibilities/Activities:Reviews sales orders and quotes to ensure that bills of material and product characteristics are complete prior to production planning.The individual will be required to clarify orders in the ERP system; this may include modifying existing bills of materials or the characteristics of the products.Collaborates and provides support to engineering and production.Frequently interacts with the sales department and customers to understand requests and communicate certain limitations.Create reports and correspondence.Communicate with production regarding system changes or bills of material changes.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent required, associate's degree or similar preferred.Preferably a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing with work done in engineering, production/production planning, order entry, or similar areas.Experience with bills of material or bills of material structure would be beneficial.Have substantial experience and be able to demonstrate proficiency with the following software programs: MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Excel.Have experience with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) software package such as Oracle, JD Edwards, or SAP. Hí¶rmann LLC manages operations with SAP; therefore, experience with this package is preferred.Have the ability to work on several projects simultaneously.Have the ability to work flexible hours when required to complete necessary job assignments.Conduct activities by adhering to established procedures and approved processes.Must promote a safe work environment.Essential Mental Functions:Must be able to follow an established routine and be predisposed to high level of interaction in a team environment.Successful candidates must be a highly organized, self-motivated individual who can work independently without continuous supervision.Be detailed in the creation or review of published documents.Be detailed in his/her work taking special precautions with regards to safety and security.Be open and honest with fellow staff members and the engineering manager to ensure the quality of work performed while fostering an open, honest and ethical work environment.Speak and communicate well with customers and colleagues.Essential Physical Functions:Although the employee is not expected to perform extraneous physical activities in the completion of their work, frequent trips into areas of production may be necessary; therefore, they must be physically able to safely maneuver in production areas.May require walking primarily on a level surface for specific periods throughout the day.
