Job Title Clinical Engineer Technician I Location Mayfield Hts Facility Hillcrest Hospital Department Facilities Engineering-South Pointe Hospital Job Code P20001 Shift Days + Call Schedule 7:00am-3:30pm/6:00am-2:30pm Job Summary Installs, maintains and repairs medical equipment. Job Details Responsibilities: Provides routine and as needed clinical engineering services (repair, maintenance, relocation, installation, etc.) for equipment as assigned. Maintains documentation of equipment, inventory, service and repairs. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment as assigned. Other duties as assigned. Education: High School Diploma / GED or equivalent required. Associate's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering Technology preferred. Associate's Degree in Biomedical or Electrical Engineering or IT (Information Technology) technical field can substitute for the required experience. Certifications: Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) or Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET) preferred. Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Work Experience: Two years of relevant experience troubleshooting and maintaining medical equipment or equipment in a mechanical or electrical technician field required. Equivalent specialized or military training can substitute for the degree. Physical Requirements: Ability to climb 8-foot ladders and work on overhead equipment. Ability to work in prone positions and in confined, darkened areas. Sufficient manual dexterity to use hand and power tools and work on small mechanical parts. Visual acuity sufficient to distinguish between colors used for wire color coding and read finely printed blueprints and schematics. Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information Ability to travel throughout the hospital system Ability to move up to 50 pounds Personal Protective Equipment: Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
