- Senior Engineering Technician: hiring range is $33.88 to $37.02 per hour with a full range of $33.88 to $42.92 per hour.
- Engineering Technician: hiring range is $30.16 to $32.95 per hour with a full range of $30.16 to $38.20 per hour.
Minimum QualificationsSenior Engineering Technician
- Completion of an Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Land Survey Technology or related program.ORA substitution of education and work experience may qualify: Four years of work experience in a related field may be substituted for an Associate's degree.
AND
- Six years of related engineering/construction experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
Engineering Technician
- Completion of an Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Land Survey Technology or related program.ORA substitution of education and work experience may qualify: Four years of work experience in a related field may be substituted for an Associate's degree.
AND
- Three years of related experience.

- Inspects and designs Highway Construction Projects. Drafts standard plans for State and Federal funded projects. Completes preliminary design documentation. Prepares required and assigned construction plans, documentation, measurements, calculations, verifications, compliance audits, reporting, and reviews.
- Collects and tests required construction material samples to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation and FHWA specifications; verifies project compliance with construction specifications and environmental, storm water, and wetland permit specifications.
- Conducts surveys of existing roads for reconstruction; stakes roads for reconstruction based on plans and standards. Manage cadastral survey monuments effected by construction.
- Interacts with the public, governmental agencies, vendors, and various businesses regarding projects.
- Performs, records, submits and verifies bituminous and aggregate lab testing, field testing, plant calibration, and bridge safety inspections according to state and federal requirements.
- Maintain required certifications.
