Our cookie exchanges and ice cream socials are quite the treat. The Engineering Department at AKRF is seeking an Entry Level Civil Engineer to work in our New York City office. This individual will serve a key function in helping to design commercial, residential, -use, and industrial properties, along with large-scale infrastructure projects. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of New York. Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates, and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment.
  • Use record documents, reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess site characteristics such as hydrology, topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects.
  • Site/civil design including site planning, site layout, grading, drainage, utility design, stormwater management, and soil erosion and sediment control.
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-1 years of work experience
  • FE/EIT certification preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
  • Reliable transportation to access job sites, on occasion, with a valid driver's license in good standing.
  • Demonstrate ability to follow direction and work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience with computer aided drafting software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
