- Assist patients during intake, prepare exam rooms, and document clinical care in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Monitor patient progress and ensure accurate documentation of interventions and outcomes.
Diagnostic Testing & Lab Work
- Perform CLIA-waived lab tests, venipunctures, and capillary blood draws, adhering to quality assurance protocols.
- Conduct in-office diagnostic tests, such as EKGs, vision, and hearing screenings, under provider supervision.
Vaccinations & Injections
- Administer adult and pediatric vaccines, ensuring compliance with CDC guidelines and the Vaccines for Children (VFC) program.
- Perform subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intradermal injections under provider supervision.
Provider Support
- Assist healthcare providers during exams and procedures.
- Act as a medical scribe, documenting care and entering orders/referrals in the EHR.
Administrative Tasks
- Handle medication prior authorizations and inventory management of medical supplies.
- Process electronic documents, including patient correspondence, lab results, and consult notes, through the EHR.
Safety & Quality Improvement
- Report incidents, near misses, and patient concerns using the online incident reporting system.
- Participate in initiatives to improve patient care and overall clinic operations.
Team Collaboration
- Monitor the waiting area for safety and privacy concerns, promptly addressing emergencies or escalating issues to the appropriate staff.
- Support the team by providing non-urgent feedback about office needs, equipment malfunctions, or process improvements.
