The Entry-Level Registered Nurse is a full-time position that participates in a one-year nationally recognized Nurse Residency Program designed to support your transition from graduate to professional nurse. This position combines practical on-the-job training with classroom education, providing a well-rounded start to your nursing career.

As a participant in this program, you will forge connections with fellow new RNs and collaborate on impactful projects that enhance patient care. You will receive support from your Nurse Manager, Preceptor, Mentor, and other nursing staff, as well as a Nursing Outcome Improvement Facilitator, ensuring a comprehensive onboarding experience.

Our curriculum emphasizes three core components: Clinical Leadership, Patient Safety and Outcomes, and the Professional Role as a Registered Nurse. Monthly residency sessions will strengthen your foundational knowledge for lifelong learning in nursing.

In addition to residency activities, the Entry-Level Registered Nurse will deliver nursing care to a designated patient group, utilizing the nursing process effectively. You will provide age-appropriate care, engage in research when suitable, and integrate research findings into evidence-based practice. You will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives while adhering to the MMC Mission, Vision, and Values, the Nursing Division Mission, Vision, and Philosophy, the ANA Code of Ethics, and the Illinois Nursing Act.
