Job Description :

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to oversee our chemical client's organization's health and safety programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential hazards and implementing effective solutions to promote a safe working environment.

Duties

  • Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements, including EPA standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify potential hazards, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Perform root cause analysis for incidents and accidents, developing corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
  • Manage workers' compensation claims and facilitate return-to-work programs.
  • Provide training development for employees on EHS practices, including first aid, CPR, and occupational health topics.
  • Prepare detailed reports on EHS performance metrics, incidents, and compliance status for management review.
  • Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety within the organization.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and changes in legislation affecting environmental health and safety.

Experience

  • Proven experience in an EHS management role or similar position within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, occupational health standards, and safety practices.
  • Experience in training development and delivery related to EHS topics.
  • Familiarity with report writing and documentation related to safety compliance.
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR is preferred; additional certifications in EHS-related fields are a plus.
  • Ability to fabricate solutions for safety challenges as needed.
