We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Environmental Health and Safety Advisor to join our team in Virginia, US. The EHS Advisor will be responsible for the day-to-day management of environmental, health, and safety activities at our client site in Virginia. This position will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and implement safety programs. The candidate will be supported by and will answer directly to the ASafe Global Management Team.
Your Role:
Develop, implement, and continuously improve EHS programs, policies, and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.Conduct regular hazard assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs), and audits to identify and mitigate risks.Provide ongoing safety training and development for employees and contractors, including toolbox talks, fire safety drills, and emergency response training.Investigate accidents, near-misses, and safety violations; implement corrective actions and provide comprehensive incident reports to management.Maintain accurate records of all EHS activities, including incident reports, safety inspections, audits, and employee training.Oversee waste management, air emissions, water discharges, and other environmental aspects to ensure compliance with environmental standards.Work closely with operations, construction, and project teams to integrate EHS requirements into project planning and execution.Act as the lead on emergency response efforts, ensuring that the facility is prepared for potential safety or environmental incidents.What you'll need to succeed:
Bachelors degree in environmental health and safety, Occupational Safety, or a related field.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a data center, construction, or Oil & Gas.Hands-on experience in heavy construction including work with heavy cranes in tight quarters around electrical loads.Experience with safety management systems, environmental regulatory compliance, and First Aid/CPR certification is beneficial.CSP, ASP, OHST, CHST by BCSP or equivalent certifications preferred.Strong understanding of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, industry-specific safety practices, and familiarity with emergency response protocols and risk management practices are a plus.Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to influence, and drive a safety culture across diverse teams, strong problem-solving and organizational abilities are expected.Proficiency in safety software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Preferred candidates are based in Virginia or open to relocation, with access to their own vehicle/transportation, as local travel will be required.Benefits:
