Job Summary:

Our client is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety Consultant to join their team! This position is located in Riverwoods, Illinois.

Duties:

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company performance standards
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety programs to meet OSHA and company requirements
  • Oversee regulatory compliance audits/inspections and associated record keeping
  • Deliver EH&S programs to train employees in work site safety practices by promoting and leading a culture where safety is ingrained as a core value with all employees
  • Establish baseline measures for company losses from illness, injuries, and accidents by major location
  • Collaborate with employees to identify and implement solutions to safety issues identified in inspections and investigations to eliminate incidents and preventing recurrence
  • Review incident and injury reporting and analyzes data to identify trends
  • Drive key effective, sustainable implementation of corporate EH&S initiatives, strategies, programs and procedures, responsibilities via hands on leadership, coaching, and team work
  • Facilitate, train, and coach employees from onboarding to OSHA required annual training, safety audits and other safety related topics to ensure compliance with government mandated training
  • Analyze EH&S programs, conditions and behaviors and recommends changes to continuously improve company wide EH&S performance

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in Environmental, Health, and Safety management in a manufacturing, industrial, or corporate environment
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards and compliance requirements
  • Proven experience developing and implementing EH&S programs and safety training initiatives
  • Strong expertise in conducting regulatory compliance audits, inspections, and associated record-keeping
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze incident and injury data to identify trends and implement corrective actions
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team collaboration skills to foster a strong safety culture
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for training, facilitating, and influencing across all organizational levels
  • Experience working cross-functionally with departments such as Facilities, Engineering, HR, Risk, and Operations
  • Familiarity with worker's compensation claims management and partnering with HR and insurance teams
  • Certification in relevant safety and health areas, such as CSP, CIH, or similar credentials, is preferred
  • Proficiency in EH&S software, data analysis tools, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to travel as required to multiple locations for audits, training, and compliance activities
