ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY SPECIALIST OVERVIEW:The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for leading the development and execution of the organization's EHS programs. This role focuses on ensuring compliance, promoting a culture of safety, and mitigating environmental and workplace risks.WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Develop and implement comprehensive EHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Design and deliver EHS training programs tailored to various roles within the organization.
- Investigate and analyze incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Collaborate across departments to integrate EHS considerations into business operations and project planning.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of EHS regulations and industry best practices.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Professional certification (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
