Position Summary:ACE Thermal Systems is looking for a dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to lead and support initiatives that ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This role involves developing and implementing EHS programs, monitoring chemical processes, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. The EHS Specialist will focus on promoting a culture of safety, conducting risk assessments, and improving processes to enhance the overall health and safety performance of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits, with particular focus on chemical processing operations, including Alodine room compliance.
- Monitor hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal to maintain regulatory and environmental compliance.
- Lead training sessions to promote awareness and adherence to EHS policies and best practices across the organization.
- Investigate incidents, conduct root cause analyses, and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to EHS compliance, reporting, and metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in safety and environmental performance.
- Stay updated on changes in EHS regulations and industry best practices, applying them proactively to operations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing or chemical processing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
- Proven ability to assess risks, identify hazards, and develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Experience with chemical processing environments, including Alodine operations.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with employees at all levels.
- Proficiency with EHS software tools and systems is a plus.
- Certifications such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager) are preferred but not required.
