Job Description :

Title: EHS Specialist - I

Location: Valencia, CA /Hybrid-4 days required onsite

Duration: 8+ Months (Possible extension)

No travel for this position.

Description:

  • This is a small EH&S Site.
  • Training will be managed by a Sr. EH&SS
  • Will be working with facilities, R&D, audit support, other.

Must Have:

  • Someone with experience in regulatory compliance and safety.
  • Experienced in risk assessments.
  • Ergonomics.
  • Training related to EH & S.
  • Hazardous waste management.

Job Purpose:

  • Contributes to maintaining EH&S programs to further improve EHS as an integral part of site operations.
  • Provides general support to EH&S Function across all operations.
  • Maintains EH&S programs and participates in new program implementation.
  • Works with Managers, Trainers, and Technicians to identify and control significant environmental health and safety impacts of operations.
  • Performs day-to-day activities to maintain division compliance.
  • Supports management of EH&S programs, and pro-actively works to reduce workplace injury frequency and severity rates.
  • Participates in Behavioral Based Safety program maintenance.
  • Participates in internal and external EH&S compliance audits, self-assessments, and inspections throughout the facilities.
  • Coordinates and delivers EH&S related training.
  • Supports ergonomics and participates in risk reduction initiatives.
  • Performs hazard assessments.
  • Understands and proactively follows through on the Environmental, Health and Safety Management Procedures.
  • Actively works to maintain ISO 14001 and 45001 certifications at the facility.
  • Communicates effectively across the organization and works independently to drive improvement of EHS programs.
  • Quality Systems Requirements :In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety or related field, and minimum of 2 years' experience in the areas of occupational safety, health, and environment.
  • Hands-on experience in an R&D work environment is highly desired.
  • Ability to make aggressive EH&S decisions within the bounds of sound business strategic goals.
  • Experience in both Safety and Environmental regulations.
