Environmental Health Specialist I - Food Safety - City of Lincoln, NE : Job Details

Hours FULL TIME; M - F; 8 AM - 4:30 PM. Some evenings and weekends may be required.

The Lincoln-Lancaster County's Disease Prevention Section is looking for an outgoing, self-motivated individual to be part of a team with the goal of Protecting and Promoting the Public Health.

This position will be responsible for public health protection work primarily in the Food Safety Section. Primary duties will include conducting food establishment inspections, foodborne illness prevention, education, investigations, and providing food safety technical assistance to licensed food establishments and food employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree with major course work in environmental science, environmental health, environmental engineering, biological, chemical or physical sciences; or any equivalent. Must have at least 45 quarter credit hours or 30 semester credit hours in the basic sciences.

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must be registered as a Provisional Environmental Health Specialist in the State of Nebraska within one (1) month of appointment. Possession of a valid driver's license.
