Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssists with environmental activities at an industrial manufacturing facility to assure compliance with State and Federal regulatory requirements for all Marquis entities.Prepare and submit environmental permit applications/renewals for new development and modification to existing processes and equipment at facilities in Illinois including but not limited to Construction/Operation Air Permits, NPDES permits for individual discharge and general storm water discharge streams, Construction/Operation Permits for utility wastewater systems, flammable storage permits, additional permits as required on a project-by-project basis for USEPA, IEPA, IDNR, WDNR, USACE. Participate in follow-up communication and supplemental information requests as dictated during application review.Participate in environmental audits and inspections by governing agencies regarding permit and regulatory requirements.Implement facility plans as required by various regulations and permits including but not limited to SPCC plans, SWPPP plans, Facility Response Plans, MON Startup, Shutdown and Malfunction Plans, etc.Review and recommend improvements to existing environmental strategies.Investigate environmental incidents and develop action plans.Oversee the execution of our ongoing compliance recordkeeping such as boiler gas, rolling emissions, etc.Provide oversight to Environmental Coordinators, including providing training, overseeing workload, reviewing data compiled for reporting and permitting.Support with responses to any information requests, violation notice responses, and interaction with Agencies.Assist with oversight of emissions testing.Prepare and submit annual emissions reports.Assist with the preparation, final review, and submittal of reports drafted by the Environmental Coordinators. Reports to include:Annual: Toxic Release Inventory, Greenhouse Gas, Annual Hazardous Waste, EPCRA Tier II chemical inventory, NPDES Storm Water, TSCA, Annual Compliance Certification for MEWSemi-Annual: MON Compliance, LDAR MonitoringQuarterly: Air Compliance, CEMSMonthly: NPDES discharge monitoring reports, groundwater- usage and monitoringRegulatory support including FDA and USEPA FIFRA requirements. Submit, maintain, and update labeler and establishment registrations. Maintain NDC product listings with the FDA.Compile, prepare, and submit Annual reports to FDA and USEPA.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Physical Science, or equivalent experience. 7-10 years in the environmental field preferred.Demonstrate sustained performance in environmental functions with strong oral and written communication skills.Demonstrate familiarity with fundamental environmental concepts as they apply to spill prevention, water pollution control, air pollution control, waste generation, hazardous material handling.Ability to simultaneously handle a variety of environmental projects and assignments.Ability to review and apply environmental regulations (local, state, and federal)Ability to compose applications and reports with appropriate regulatory reference.Physical RequirementsWork is normally performed in an indoor office environment.Occasionally, work may be performed within the industrial manufacturing facility.While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, talk, and hear.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
